What This Privacy Policy Covers
- This policy covers how Skill-Life, Inc., from now on referred to as Skill-Life, or the website on which this notice was posted, treats personal information that Skill-Life collects and receives, including information related to your past use of Skill-Life products and services, including but not limited to Skill-Life's web-based CentsCity product, from now on referred to as "CentsCity" the "website" or the "site." Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number.
- This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Skill-Life does not own or control or to people that Skill-Life does not employ or manage.
Information Collection and Use
General
- In order to use many features of this website, you must first complete the registration form and create a username and password. During registration you are required to give certain personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address). When you register to use the CentsCity website and sign into our services, you are not anonymous to us. Skill-Life also collects personally identifiable information from our users on several different pages of our website, as well as on the pages of certain Skill-Life partners. Skill-Life is the sole owner of the information collected on CentsCity, but we may also combine information about you in our possession with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.
- We use this information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, improve our services, contact you with updates, special offers, and service-related announcements, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external purposes.
- Based upon the personally identifiable information that you provide to us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will generally communicate with you by email.
- If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, phone number, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date). If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders.
- From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code). We may use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, to monitor site traffic or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected in surveys). We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.
Children
- When a child under age 13 registers on the CentsCity site, Skill-Life directly collects the name and email addresses of the child and the child's parent or guardian solely for the purpose of obtaining parental consent. The child's parent or guardian is then notified via email and must approve the child's account information before the child's account is fully activated. Skill-Life complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and all regulations promulgated by the Federal Trade Commission thereunder.
- Skill-Life does not contact children under age 13 about special offers or for marketing purposes without a parent's permission.
- Skill-Life does not ask a child under age 13 for more personal information, as a condition of participation, than is reasonably necessary to participate in a given activity or promotion.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
- Skill-Life does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested or when we have your permission.
- We use an outside credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes. We use other third parties to provide certain rewards earned on the CentsCity site. When you choose these rewards, we may provide these third parties with certain personal information necessary for them to provide that service. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share your personal information.
- We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on Skill-Life.
Log Files and Cookies
- As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
- We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users' movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.
- A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.
- This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by this site only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences
General
- You can edit your CentsCity Account Information at any time by logging in to your account and clicking on "Account Info." This will take you to your account options. Any questions should be addressed to Support at Skill-Life, Inc.
- We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the CentsCity service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the CentsCity Newsletter, that are considered part of your CentsCity account, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.
- You can delete your CentsCity account by sending a written request via an email to Support at Skill-Life, Inc.
Children
- Parents can review, edit, and delete information relating to their child's CentsCity account by logging in to your account and clicking on the word "edit" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Any questions should be addressed to Support at Skill-Life, Inc.
- If a parent chooses not to allow us to further collect or use a child's information, parents can delete their child's account by sending a written request via email to Support at Skill-Life, Inc
Security
- The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Business Transitions
- In the event Skill-Life goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. - If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, on the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
